Winter Storm Brings Snow To NortheastBeing in the Pacific Northwest, we’re lucky enough to escape most of the terrible weather the rest of the US has to endure. Granted, we have rain, fog, rain, more rain… But at least we’re not up to our knees in snow when we’re walking downtown. Doing the same in New York? That’s a different story.

If you’ve been keeping up with Snowpocalypse 2015, you’re likely familiar with the blizzard the East Coast is suffering at the moment. New York, Boston, and other parts of the North Eastern US have been hit with a lot of snow, shutting down large swaths of the city. Sounds awfully familiar…

To keep the public safe, the Mayor of New York recently made quite the declaration, banning all non-emergency vehicles from the road after 11PM once the blizzard hit. No busses, no taxis, no Uber cars, and before you ask, yes; that includes food delivery bikes.

This, as you can imagine, didn’t go over too well among hungry New Yorkers craving a midnight snack. Jon Stewart probably put it the most eloquently.

Now, at Portland Pedal Power, we know how important it is to get your fix of Aybla Mediterranean, your Siri Indian Cuisine, or curing your munchies with some of the delicious food cart specialties found on our menu. And we also know how difficult it is to ride during less-than-perfect conditions, especially when we’ve got some precious cargo in the back.

That’s why we want to give a special shout-out to the Food Delivery Heros out in the North East, getting last minute deliveries out to those suffering from the munchies. Kudos to you, fellow cuisine couriers! We support your efforts to help the munchies stricken!

Well, at least until it snows. Then we might be staying in.
