Living in Portland, we are very lucky to live in a cycling friendly environment. That’s one of the reasons we are very excited when Portland Sunday Parkways comes around!

Portland Pedal Power will be there representing Point West Credit Union with our Point West Bike, so be sure to swing by and say hello! That’s right, folks! Sunday Parkways is coming back for 2014! I don’t think I have to tell you Portland Pedal Power gets excited when events like this come around. Anything that means less cars on the road and more bikes to take their place is a step in the right direction.

In case you’re unfamiliar with the event, the City of Portland opens up the city’s largest public space – its streets – to let you get around however you may like. You can walk, roll, hop, skip, jump, jive, pogo stick, and bicycle throughout the parkways, greeting neighbors, visiting your neighborhood haunts, and enjoying the clean air. According to the City of Portland’s website, it is the aim of Sunday Parkways to help everyone “discover active transportation while fostering civic pride, stimulating economic development, and represent the community, business, and government investments in Portland’s vitality, livability, and diversity.”
