Come Meet the Best Local Credit Union at Sunday Parkways!

Bridge Pedal FitzLiving in Portland, we are very lucky to live in a cycling friendly environment. That’s one of the reasons we are very excited when Portland Sunday Parkways comes around!

Portland Pedal Power will be there representing Point West Credit Union with our Point West Bike, so be sure to swing by and say hello! Point West is proud to support Portland’s favorite means of alternative transportation as it recognizes our city’s growing bicycle community. In support, Point West offers bicycle loans with rates as low as 4.49% so you can finance that amazing piece of pedal powered machinery that you’ve been drooling over.

Be sure and take this chance to enter the Pedal Power Photo Contest with our Point West Bike! Come in costume, with props, family members, anything you think will help you stand out from the crowd. We will be happy to strike a pose along with you, getting you maximum votes on the Point West Facebook Page!

Aybla Mediterranean Grill

Aybla FalafelThis is the third in a series of interviews giving an in-depth look at the restaurants that your friendly Portland Pedal Power riders frequent as they dash around town making lunch deliveries. Check out the previous interviews with Aaron from Picnic House and Addy from Addy’s Sandwich Bar.

We recently caught up with Saied Samaiel, owner and head chef of Aybla Mediterranean Grill. Aybla first hit the Portland food cart scene with a cart at the SW 10th & Alder pod in 2004. Since then, Saied has expanded his business to include four food carts and a mobile food truck which are all supported by Aybla’s brand new commercial kitchen located in the inner Southeast. And if you don’t have time to go out for lunch, your friendly riders at Portland Pedal Power will deliver your delicious gyros and falafel right to your desk.

But don’t just take our word for it. Check out what Saied has to say about all of his amazing food, as well as the true pronunciation of Aybla and where the name comes from.

I linger in it this afternoon, admiring the thin, yellow light slanting over the brave, sturdy vegetables still thriving in the garden.
