Walking the Way to a Cure for MS

Portland Pedal Power works to support local causes we believe in. 18362574676_4343192f6f_zWalk MS is a super fun event for a great cause. For the last four years we’ve helped support by sharing their story and distributing posters all over town. The event is coming up quick on April 18th. Register here!

From start to finish, Walk MS Portland is a fun, heartfelt, family-friendly event. Enjoy tasty food and refreshing beverages, snap a pic at one of our “un-selfie” stations, explore the Kid’s Play Zone, dress up in your favorite costume, and head off from the starting line to the beat of The Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers.

17765966324_0aab392f0c_oOnce the crowd gets moving, walk at whatever pace is most convenient for you and your friends (this is no race). The route covers 3.1 miles from Pioneer Courthouse Square, along the waterfront, across the Steel Bridge, south along the eastside esplanade, back across the Hawthorne Bridge, and wraps up back at the P.H. Square.

When you raise funds through Walk MS, you give hope to the more than 8,100 people living with MS in our community. The dollars raised support life-changing programs and cutting-edge research. Join the movement!

If you’re unable to join the day of the event. Register as a Virtual Walker and fundraise from the comfort of your home (or your bike!). Every dollar counts on the road to cure MS.

If you prefer working behind the scenes you can easily volunteer onsite, work as an office intern, or even play a strategic role in your community. Email [email protected] to learn more.

squarespace-employees-know-how-to-properly-enjoy-internationalbeerday-friday-wedeliver-ridereric_19759614724_o (1)This last year was an epic one for Portland Pedal Power, with more of everything: more cargo bikes loaded down with piping hot food, saucy new vendors, more parties and events, brand new staffers, and a growing list of sponsors who align with our mission — to fuel Portland with sustainable bike delivery.

This last year we painted the town with local sponsors like Bowery Bagels, Sundown Concerts (Ecotrust), Gluten Free Gem Bakery, Providence #FinishCancer, Willamette Week Give!Guide, Pacific Power, PointWest Credit Union, BTA Bike Commute Challenge, Treo Bike Tours, Cambia Portland Classic, the GoGreen Conference, the Portland Art Museum, USAgencies, GenZe, Whole Foods, and OPB.

Looking forward, we plan on growing and further evolving in 2016. We will unveil some exciting new website changes in the coming days. We’ll continue to work to provide our hungry customers with the best service, superior food selection, and the best catering by bike this side of the Mississippi. We will continue to build community partnerships to boost our favorite local businesses and brands, providing unique visibility and friendly brand ambassadors on our bikes.

PPP is committed to supporting sustainable business and growth in the city we love. We hope you’ll join us in ushering in a better future.

Cheers to the coming year! Power to the Pedal!

Take a Walk for MS!

It never hurts to go for a stroll around the block. Why not take a walk for a good cause? This April, the National MS Society is hosting a walk to raise money and awareness for those living with Multiple Sclerosis (MS).

In case you’re unfamiliar with the walk or the organization, Walk MS connects people living with MS and those who care about them. It is an experience unlike any other – a day to come together, to celebrate the progress we’ve made and to show the power of our connections. When you participate in Walk MS, the funds you raise give hope to the more than 7,700 people living with MS in our community. The dollars raised support life-changing programs and cutting-edge research. Every connection counts.
