Ah yes, the end of February is upon us and March rapidly approaches. This is that time of year all of us in Portland begin to anticipate our spring, and wonder whether or not it will actually come before summer this year. Despite Mother Nature’s cruel sense of humor and lack of respect for the seasons, soon Portland will begin to bloom like it’s much beloved Roses. We will once again be celebrating last Thursday on the streets of Alberta! First Thursday will emerge from indoors! Waterfront festivals will begin to take form, and of course all the outdoor beer festivals will begin. Yes, “springtime” in Portland is one of the greatest times of year. Although it’s not just the events that make this time of year so wonderful, but the joy of the ride to these events that truly make it seem special. The fresh air breezing through your hair, riding down streets filled with blooming budding bicycles emerging from winter dreariness, and sunshine… sometimes.
