2010 Bite pie spoons

Pie sampling last year at The Bite

Have you seen us on the streets with the catchy Bite signs on our bikes? Well…stop us when you do! We have $2 off coupons. Better yet, be one of the first ten people to holler out to us, “Hey, The Bite!” and receive a FREE weekend pass to the event. PPP is partnering with The Bite of Oregon to get the juices flowing. It will be hard to miss us since we’ve been on the road with the signs since July 26 and we’ll be at First Thursday tonight and The Portland Twilight Criterium next Friday. And of course, on our daily downtown lunch deliveries.

Main attractions at this year’s Bite of Oregon include Bob Blumer from the Food Network, Oregon Wine Pavilion, Oregon Craft Beer Gardens, Live Music & Entertainment and of course, Outstanding Cuisine. The event is a full three days on August 12-14 (Fri-Sun).

The Bite of Oregon benefits Special Olympics of Oregon. So get down to the waterfront!  And since we have a soft spot for companies putting money behind good causes, I want to give props to The Bite’s premier sponsor, Amica Mutual Insurance Company. This year’s Bite has also moved to a strong focus on sustainability, with a goal of  “zero footprint”.  You’ll notice some big changes.

Ready for smiles and beer?

The PPP Pedal Ads we are using to promote The Bite of Oregon are among my favorite. The layout work was done by PPP’s sign partner, and my good friend, Dallas Roemeling of Able Sage Signs and Graphics. Thanks for another great job, Dallas. The signs look fantastic!

On Friday at The Bite, Portland Pedal Power will be delivering all of the food entries to the judges for the first annual “Best of the Bite” awards.  The panel of VIP judges will be served entrees at noon and Best of the Bite winners will be announced at 1:15.  Recipients will receive an award that will be hung on the front of their booths to celebrate their victory and presented with a plaque that can be displayed in their restaurant. The categories are Best Entrée, Best Dessert and Best Booth.

On Sunday, PPP will be at the ReDirect Guide booth chatting it up and holding a drawing for FREE prizes. Woot!

See you there! Be sure to say hello.
