I had the honor of delivering a pony keg of Hopworks IPA to dozens of women by bicycle last Thursday night. Not just any women, but The Portland Society…the business alliance of bike loving women. They even invited me stay for their event — the Ugly Sweater Party and Happy  Hour. It was a total blast! PPP co-owner Jenn Dederich was out of town and couldn’t make the delivery herself, so I lucked out.

My only regret is that I am not a woman and therefore cannot become a member of The Portland Society.  😉  Seriously, if you are a professional woman who wishes to connect with others to promote the greater use of bicycles in Portland, you need to contact these incredible women. The two year old group are seeking new members and I expect their ranks will grow fast in 2012.

Mission:  The Portland Society is a nonprofit business alliance of professional women who are passionate about bicycling in Portland, Oregon. We work together to support each other through referral, education, and community. We grow our businesses and careers while making Portland a better place to live and ride.

The mission of Thursday night’s event:  To rally our members and get ready for a great 2012 encouraging more women to ride and to take an active role in making Portland a supreme place for cyclists.
