If you read the blog yesterday, you know that Portland Pedal Power will be representing Point West Credit Union this weekend at the PDX Bicycle Show. If that isn’t a good enough reason to swing by, test-ride some bikes and get some swag, here are a few more sponsors you can check out at the event:
Nutcase Helmets: Nutcase is the brainchild of designer Michael Morrow, who saw a gap in the market for sports helmets and decided to focus on helping cyclists (and skaters, snowboarders and other outdoor sports fans) express their personality, views and allegiances while also protecting their heads. Bicycle Transportation Alliance: If you’ve noticed an increase in bike lanes and sharrows while biking around Portland over the past several years, you have the Bicycle Transportation Alliance to thank. The BTA is a non-profit that has been serving Oregon cyclists since 1990, doing their part to promote cycling and improving cycling conditions. Their aim is to “create communities where people can meet their daily transportation needs on a bike” and their overall vision is to “transform communities by reinventing transportation and offering solutions for the universal challenges facing health, livability and the environment”. It’s safe to say that if it wasn’t for the BTA, we might not have the opportunity to take a weekend to celebrate bikes at the PDX Bicycle Show. Check out their BikeSwap, going down on both Saturday and Sunday, to get some great deals on new and used bikes and gear!
